With my car off the road, I've found myself with a relaxed end to the weekend.
I order this Sun Print kit on Amazon last week for £8.99! I thought it would be an absolute bargain, However, silly me miss read the advert. I thought I was ordering 10x10 size papers, when they arrived, turns out they were 4x4 😞 Anyway I had to use them and I really enjoyed it. The process is simple, choose an object to create an image. I chose some plant materials from the garden. Then you layer them over your paper along with a sheet of Perspex over the top to flatten the plant. After 1-2 minutes, you need to then wash the paper to reveal the image in a white shadow effect. It's simple but very effective and real great fun. It reminds me of the work of Man Ray and his Photogram Technique. The images below are my own experience working with Sun Print paper and how my experiments worked. Peace :)

On Wednesday 13th September I had the pleasure of going on a faculty wide trip to the Tate Modern with Solihull College.
I have recently started working at the College as a Support Assistant and I can say that I am thoroughly enjoying it. It was the second trip of the year so far, what a fantastic way to start the academic year! It is so good to surround myself all things art once again, my favourite part being the Dark Room ♥️ Anyway, I had the chance to see some long term favourite artists once again in the Tate. Some that spring to mind... Bruce Nauman Salvador Dali Claude Monet Gerhard Richter Bruce Nauman was and is still one of my favorite artists and one of my main inspirations to produce work. I'll attach some photos below. Peace x After finishing University this June, I can honestly say that I have not done any art related practices (with much regret.) However, I was approached by local amateur band, Love Custard, to do a few shots for a magazine they are being featured in soon.
I went for the typical rock stance and setting. Grim backdrop from a creepy graveyard and black and white filtering. Cliché I know, but they were happy! I'll attach them below. Although some of the members of the band where more willing to be photographed than others, these are the things of which a photographer has to work with and manage in the best way possible. I really enjoyed the whole experience and I would 100% like to do more, should they want me too. Thanks for reading, Chelsea :) |
